got lied to in the first episode, we got NIN and Rob Zombie
from then on out the diagetic music has been just terrible no-name stuff (as far as i can tell)
there's an episode that takes place at a club and given how people are dancing vs whats playing i can only assume a much worse song was substituted in post :/
not loving this "big city fag who escaped to the country" and lives in a queered up log cabin
like, he's asking for fat free milk and cinnamon for his coffee in the small country diner (oblivious to how annoying he is) offering people diet drinks, lisping along to some old musical, talking in some *imagined* vernacular of An Irksome Gay
dont care for that
we've gone from frank dismissively saying "the killer thinks he's hearing messages from god" and saying he has no faith to a priest
to
frank literally seeing demons, talking to a ghost, sees a divine assassin cast lightning bolt on a devil(?) and is being drawn into a millenarian prophecy of the end times
exploitation
~2minute long sequence where a screaming woman's clothing is cut off and she is hosed + scrubbed down while restrained face down on a surgical table
honestly, I don't like these kind of episodes, this show does not go far enough to be harrowing/cathartic and fully dwell on & handle topics like SA (etc) but it does sometimes throw stuff in to shock?
not too surprising the writer was working on L&O:SVU at the same time
not a full throated condemnation, more like a exhausted sigh
Average Millennium Episode By Season:
S1 - Frank trails a serial killer while experiencing visions that might be intuition but could be ...something more
S2 - Criminals serving The Entity have hijacked a shipment of coca leaves to make cursed cocaine. Frank pairs with a Millennium group operative who may have participated in the lindbergh baby abduction on behalf of Alister Crowley. The End is Nigh
S3 - Frank & Emma investigate a murder with extra sinister overtones. Peter is also there.
SA
ah a false rape accusation, writers need to be Fucking Careful about putting that shit in a show so damn casually
nothing like a culture that believes women just lie about this for our own ends (its an oddly recurring motif in police procedurals. and like, cops do 100% rape people and get the fuck away with it)
wait, has there ever been a *man* who advanced a false accusation in any tv show? idk
anyway I do not care for this *one damn part*
handled poorly in the script imo
and now we have, I SWEAR TO GOD
Agent
Lanyard
(i double checked)
investigating the manhattan project in 1945
okay, we have a sarcophagus holding an irradiated corpse, visions of demons as the trinity test goes off
why could more of season 3 not be *this*
alas
side note:
american directors of a certain age regard the first nuclear tests in the US as a point of demonic reality fissure, an apocalypse-come-too-soon
(looking at you Lynch)
a woman who is blind gets attacked in her own house ... so runs and flips off the breakers killing all the lights - very cool she had a plan
@MollyNoise suburban house with 50% opacity text “WHO CARES”
and thats that, also watched the 1 xfiles millenium episode, fine but kinda superfluous
well, it was certainly a show
