I really hope that I'm right and that Z didn't send the kill order. I want to witness success in the struggle against inevitability. i want the interlude to appear and for us to get a choice, a branch -- finally z becomes a true successor, chooses which path to walk.

no choice until chapter 9 Assumes that the piece is going to play some trick; that we can go back and choose in the past scenarios, or that there's a bigger thing to follow, or that by choosing, Z gets to go untouched by the narrative and it ends. it's reasonable to assume!

but if we assume that the story is self contained, has no time travel? this is the last real chance for a choice, I think. haven't the interludes all been at the start of even chapters?

I would hold back moral judgment if Z's enemies list only contained political/power enemies. but the kill order will apply to a lot of people who really suck and should probably be hurt but who, fundamentally, she has personal beef with, rather than actually being obstacles at this stage

Z has not released whim's touch on the phone. The button has not been sent. Quiet has just helped me confirm that most UI's don't send the message until you press the button and release it while still on the button. If she slides her finger off of the send button then releases, the message will not send.

I want us to have a choice: send or not send. It will be the first choice. Not send doesn't abort the mission entirely -- Z says "delay", and edits the list; removes the personal beef, limits it to political enemies. Threats to the revolution, not targets for revenge. my working theory is that her parents are actually working against Riotus's intentions; we dont' know who the narrator during the interludes is, prompting her to try to make choices, only that they say "which is why i love you, Zhen" in i think the second interlude? Using her deadname sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm not entirely sure how to justify this further beyond *vague gestures*
