the near complete lack of social cohesion & “national” identity on Repiton is really quite interesting to me. Alternia is a body with a unified purpose, direction, and head. A coherent factory churning out troops for the front lines of an ever expanding war machine. You’re born with a sense of self in a broader structural collective. Your place in it is all you know. Repitonians are atomized, alienated. It’s a post-national world, defined at every level by 1: commodification & 2: ghosts
