Absolutely blows that no social media platform is 1/8th as good for discussing literature as /lit/

Redditors have consoomer pudding brains tumblr is a dogshit platform for extended open conversation twitter is fine but again you can't really manage an open conversation in a linear reply based platform. Twitter is built for takes and counter takes not discussion

I can go on /lit/ and scroll for 2 seconds to find a discussion on a Pynchon novel I love and enter it to see discussion on the themes and issues of the novel. Sure, it's between some of the most vile people online. But they're actually fucking talking about the book

Aside from talking to your friends about the book like a normal human the only thing that comes close to replicating that level of discussion is, like, schizo threads on twitter where 1 1079 followed 1100 following guy goes on an extended completely true rant on why gravity's rainbow proves Pynchon was CIA and was trying to spill govt secrets in 1960 by publishing the novel
