1979 All Star Break Check In

Guiseppe Dell'abate (Kate), Eva, and KC all called up!

KC has racked up 1.9 WAR with an OPS of only .643, with THIRTY FIVE stolen bases in that time.

Giuseppe has only put up .3 WAR with a 1.69 WHIP because the computer says hes a reliever. I say differently. Eva has negative WAR. Rookie troubles

Taking some time to highlight just how bad these Jays suck right now. My poor fucking pitcher. The farm is dry and the best batter on the team is the 33 year old Bobby Bonds (yes the father of that Bonds) and they have a 20 year old sensation shouldering the entire burden of their pitching staff (theyre ranked 4th in strikouts, the only thing theyre ranked in above 15th, bc I have 205. Next best has 100) They're 55 and 80 at the beginning of September. I fucking want out of here

Alright end of 1979. Players developing well. My player is the best right now, solely and entirely because the fucking Jays are so bad that they forced him to start at age 18 and I guess he bloomed under pressure. 6.5 WAR season, best K/9 of the bigs beating out NOLAN RYAN. Other than that, Donna (BQ), Arte, and Vriska all had their first ABs of the majors in some late season callups.

1979 post season check In:

the Rangers 🤢 take the world series from the Phillies in 7 games.

AL MVP: Buddy Bell

NL MVP: Gary Carter (9.6 WAR, Catcher MVP lets fucking go)

AL CY YOUNG: Ron Guidry, again.

NL CY YOUNG: J.R Richard

Best Shrikes in each position:

Me @ pitcher. highest K/9 in the league, 3rd in AL Cy Young voting (!!!)

@KC Rookie of the year!! 3rd highest SB in the NL!! and the other first big award of Shrike Club, a Gold Glove at Short Stop. (Happy birthday)

Alright going to bed now. But first. Here is how things stand on the cusp of the 1980 season

First I did shrikes in the 2020's, then 2000's, now the late 70's to the 90's. Next time probably the 50's through the 70's. But it's the 80's for now

gonna drink this coffee and do a workout while another year of this sims

1980 All Star Break Check In

This seems to be the big shrike breakout season!

Serac receives the first all star selection of the Shrikes with .89 WHIP.

And here are your breakout hitters, all rookies, save for KC. Specific shout outs to Seattle superstar center fielder Jacob, who has somehow put up nearly the same WAR as Julio through the AS break. It's looking like a great rookie of the year race

Forget the rookie race! this has turned into an MVP race, with the emergent rookie shrikes absolutely exploding onto the scene in 1980. KC has put up 8 WAR, Jacob 7.7, Arte 7.3, Vriska 7, and Nico 6.3. On the pitching side, Serac solidified his status as the only pitcher worth his paycheck in Toronto with a monster 8.4 WAR 2.85 ERA 11.4 K/9 .97 WHIP season. Giuseppe also established himself as a pitcher with 4.1 WAR in spite of an ERA+ of 101. Good stuff

1980 post season check In:

The Phillies beat the Yankees in the WS

AL MVP: @vriskazone (Jacob 2nd)
NL MVP: Steve Carlton (Arte 2nd)

AL CY: Ron Guidry (I GOT ROBBED AND ILL EXPLAIN WHY IN A SECOND)
NL CY: Steve Carlton

AL RoTY: Vriska
NL RoTY: Arte (Nico second, Secily third)

Gold Gloves: Vriska, Nico, KC

Silver Sluggers: Vriska, Jacob, Nico, Secily, Arte

OKAY HERES HOW I GOT ROBBED BY THE NEW YORK MEDIA.

Ron Guidry: 3.12 FIP, 6.9 K/9, 2.88 ERA, 7 WAR, 152 ERA+. Leads in no stats, but is a Yankee and got the award the last 3 times. 18 Wins

Me: 2.49 FIP, 11.4 K/9, 2.85 ERA, 8.4 WAR, 155 ERA+, leads in all stats, but im on a losing team and im a Jay. 17 wins though.

Serac leads in ALL RELEVANT PITCHING STATS, and is only ONE BEHIND in pitcher wins, so literally the only possible reason I can believe for me getting robbed is lol Yankees

If you think my player is OP, dont worry, he has a Jacob DeGrom tier injury risk + the other pitchers have similar ceilings they just havent reached yet

Okay back at it. Look at the 1982 fucking draft man. Edgar

1982 All Star Break Check In

Your 1982 all star shrikes are:

(Starters) Lucretia, Jacob, Vriska, Valerie, Quiet

(Secondary) Guiseppe, Eva, Donna, Nico, KC, Callista

Guiseppe Dell'Abate is having a remarkable breakout season, accumulating **6.1** pitcher WAR by the all star break with an ERA of 2.19, FIP of 2.33, and WHIP of 1.19. Not far behind is Fred Robman, with 5.3 WAR, 2.43 ERA, 1.95 FIP, and a WHIP of 1.10.

After accumulating a towering 8 WAR by the first of August, Jays ace Valerie Serac took a worm burning combacker to the leg, shattering his left shin. This is devastating news to a Jays team that was in the midst of a franchise record winning season, 8 games over .500.

In other news, Twins starter Fred Robman @nowionlywantatriumph has been moved at the deadline to the LA Dodgers in exchange for Tim Burke

Playoff check-in: the San Francisco Giants take the World Series in 7 games thanks in part to a heroic performance by young superstar Quiet Trillbeast, NL Championship Series MVP and now champion of the world. The first shrike to catch a ring

No longer on the trading block. Still available, if the Jays bomb ill probably get traded in the 80's equivalent of the Soto trade. Anyways. All players on the cusp of the 1983 season

1983 draft. The Mariners drafted Buhner! Now the yankees cant trade him away

He is not on a team. the season has been going for a month. This is, admittedly, because he signed with Boston, and I said no, because I hate boston

And right as I type this, the Dodgers scoop me up for a 1 year 3 million dollar deal. Okay
