#oklahomacitybombing is trending on twitter because it's the 26th anniversary of timothy mcveigh's bombing of the murrah federal building in okc, which i think is interesting because one of the less talked about aspects of mcveigh was that he was present outside of waco and saw the ATF slaughter dozens of people, and this was a big reason why he turned his ire towards the FBI. anyway david chipman, an ATF agent who lied about the branch davidian's violence, is biden's pick to head the ATF

re: last stab & the tulsa united methodist church, i actually worked on a documentary about bruce goff, the architect who designed it. he put OU's architecture program on the map in the early 40's and would go on to make some of the most incredible houses *anywhere*. he was also openly gay and it wasn't until the late 50's that he was fired for "endangering the morals of a minor" and his entire legacy was systematically erased. most of his buildings have been neglected or destroyed
