When i say i hate comics i mean "i despise the souless money-driven monopoly system that pushes out decisions in the biggest 2 comic publishers to focus on presale individual numbers and curbs any move considered Too Risky(only when lgbt and other minorities are involved, ofc) from ever coming to fruition" because i actually love comics. The medium is incredible. The distribution is dumb. Comics could be so much more though

@holytomater Many years ago now, I heard that a run on Batwoman had been canceled when DC changed their minds about letting main characters get married and the writer left (Batwoman being gay, marriage is kind of important to her arc).

@holytomater Like a fool, I decided to read this canceled story - and I loved it. The art is stellar, the pacing is wonderful. I kinda forgot that the story never got to be finished - until I got to literally the issue before the climax the entire run had been building up to, and the story clumsily cuts to a flashback retelling backstory we'd already been told but worse, and when we cut back the whole continuity has been reset and Batwoman has a gay best friend now.

The biggest example of the disparity in treatment of creators at marvel is that theyll cancel the fem led comic runs that have been selling steadily for over a year and do great in book form to launch the 5th ongoing spiderman series written by the son of one of the guys that directed the current starwar movies and we're supposed to think its not nepotism driving it
