I WILL repost this bc im tired of surface jane takes. People will disagree with me here but i think the difference in jane & dirk's villany entirely works for their motivations and character. Dirk's megalomania is in service of himself and his selfishness, Jane's megalomania is a depersonalization in service of the capital & state.
Her desires are the desires of an economic board, her opinions are the opinions of investors, her morality is defined by luxury and profit, and her guilt is only marked by whatever she can get away with. Jane is her own appointed god because others told her she should be.
She's corporate greed incarnate! Of course her arc isn't about her giving out monologues on the self, but repeating patterns that were instilled & encouraged in her from birth and promised as her right on this world. That in on itself results on her assimilation into nothing.
