New sudoku puzzle!

Veritable Vortices

- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Vortex sudoku: Each colored ring contains no repeated digits, and the digits must strictly increase in the same direction around the ring from lowest to highest. The starting point and direction must be determined by the solver.

@jordyn clarification, does the rotational direction of each same-colored ring match?

@jordyn ah okay cool! i wasn't sure how the logic would work if they did have to lol

@jordyn this is a really well-constructed gimmick and a delightful puzzle!

@jordyn

I made some progress last night but then fell into an art hole tonight, so I still haven't finished this. >.> But! I showed it to a sudoku fan friend of mine, and when they finished it tonight they said, "It was a good fun sudoku, your friend should be proud."

@Inumo thanks! I'm glad your friend enjoyed it, and I am proud indeed. 😁

@jordyn

OKAY

It took me 104:08 officially, apparently, not counting the multiple days of breaks in between, and involved some trial & error in the middle bit, BUT. I think I solved it???

This was a very cool puzzle once it all fell together, I love that the key piece of information I needed hinged on "how does the vortex work/what numbers are allowed in a cell because of those rules."

@Inumo hell yeah, well done! props for sticking with it!

@jordyn This one's too difficult for me I think, but it looks really cool and would be nice to see someone else solve it!

oh this was outstanding, ggggg - sol spoilers

@jordyn I loved the 3/7 logic in the top-left vortex 🌀
