The implicit fact of the unions calling off strikes this week with regards to the queen, is that if the bosses want the stations and depots to keep running they will have to sacrifice a new monarch once weekly
@lunchgirl alas britain is simply very good at killing its own
@mostportem Not even the most devoted loyalist will mourn Charles
@MxCraven he has no nostalgic youth, nor the public love built up over decades. It's over

@mostportem
boy I sure love the fact that it's unions delaying their strikes to avoid disruptions and respect the queen and not bosses accepting the unions' requests to avoid disruptions and respect the queen

@Yuvalne it's very annoying certainly. Admittedly I under the impulse to avoid public scandal right now but i really think the unions are overblowing how necessary the cancellation is. Admittedly I don't know the decision making dynamics around this sort of situation

@mostportem oh for sure, as a union leader I definitely would not want to cause frustration not only during this week but potentially to the ceremonies themselves. It's just frustrating that the unions are the ones that have to concede.
@mostportem it does beg the question of why the bosses can't just raise wages for the week/meet their demands
