tunic is a good video game and i made a good video essay to talk about why :)
Dow Constantine tweeting a teaser for an expensive and heavy battery bus running on a STREET THAT HAS TROLLEY WIRE IN THE PHOTO is going to make me treat the kc administrative building like the damn wailing wall https://x.com/kcexec/status/1706728438013608132?s=20
Morality isn't some distant concept that nobody can access, some far-off ideal that can never be reached; that's a sort of moralizing that we must reject as ultimately unsatisfying. To the contrary, moral behavior is much closer to home. It's about your opinions on video game characters and their sexuality, and it radiates out from there
thing is this show is "about" wilson but it's spent at least as much time fleshing out the vengeful vietcong expat & black panther kung fu gun runners as it has on him. we'll have to see where the last two episodes land but so far i have to applaud their commitment to making a period piece on a streaming tv budget.
it's a comically platonic "late 70s new york" like literally our main guy drives a car down an alley and some rando is like "hey i'm walkin here!" disney world new york shit. love it
like i totally get it re: let's just never put mel gibson in a thing again. but if he has to be in things then the least he can do is play a hatable 70s new york mobster freak who's definitely gonna get his skull caved in by the butt of an empty handgun before the end of the series
so there's a john wick tie-in show called The Continental. just watched the first episode and it's pretty alright. manages to be a prequel about winston without pandering or being obnoxious. set at a really interesting historical moment in 1978. it has middling reviews right now but i don't think they're deserved. fun characters, good actor chemistry, nice fight scenes.
mel gibson plays the big bad, which, you know, i'd prefer he was never in things again? but he's gonna die by the end, so
here's a couple of warmups, a sketch of @lunalapin and a... now very topical illustration of Regs and Tres Leches from Legions
Yup, this tracks. https://xkcd.com/2832/
It took me a while to get there, but I’m pretty much full on “war on cars” at this point.
for a couple years now i've been desperate for a band that was like, a transgender car seat headrest whose sound split the difference between the hyperpop camp of 100 gecs and the hyperpop angst of black dresses. i cannot believe how perfectly underscores threads that needle but it's so entirely my shit
right now this is my favorite track because it's a pop song about an extremely fucked up experience that never happened to me personally yet somehow produces an extremely visceral nostalgia for the trailer trashy friendgroup i accumulated in middle school and just how funny it was to us that wretched things were happening in the periphery of our lives at literally all times
hey what the hell, this new underscores album is really fucking good
