make no bones about it, chatgpt wouldn't be "disrupting" english classes if english classes weren't run like math classes

but both have a lot of stuff that, even as someone who was Good at non-school Writing, I didn't think of -- because I hadn't thought of writing education actually just being writing for educators.
@sarahzedig but we're taught through school to just... write terribly and then lose points when we write the way writing actually has to happen
@sarahzedig like, some actual in class discussion and handwritten responses clear up the whole thing. at that point at least they have to read the cliff notes (which they’ve been doing for decades already if they don’t care enough to do the reading)
