me, impatiently waiting for tears of the kingdom to take over my life for at least a full month: maybe the nostalgia bait open world dbz game will sate me
i buy approximately one dragonball z game every seven years in hopes that it'll recapture the Cool of dbz without me having to actually slog through a rewatch, and i always make it about 10-25% the way through before falling off in favor of something else
but perhaps this time will be different (it will not be different)
dude check out all the dlc this game has that i absolutely will not be buying
except maybe the trunks episode. the future trunks arc is my entire gender and the backbone of my entire definition of anime cool
though tbh i would get the bardok episode, IF it was an adaption of the dbz abridged version
wait fuck has anyone tried to mod the dbz abridged voice lines into any of the video games that'd be kind of rad actually
oh yeah, i'm remembering why i always wash out on dbz games pretty quick. because they start at the very beginning and i have seen the saiyan saga so many god damn times please just get to the ginyu force i'm dying squirtle
@sarahzedig iirc, they got the dbz abridged guys to do voices for Xenoverse (as in, it was one of the character creation options), but they didn't, like, do jokes
@BestGirlGrace i actually think i played a bit of xenoverse for exactly that reason, and i found it sort of intolerably plodding

@sarahzedig having just recently read all of Dragon Ball up through the end of Z, I honestly think the Saiyan saga is one of the weakest parts. It's either that or the Piccolo Jr tournament arc for me as my least favorite, though Piccolo Jr at least still had some of that good martial arts choreography, before it disappeared completely

a few years ago i cut every single episode of dbz abridged into three movies, like i spent two fucking weeks meticulously re-timing post-credits gags and things so we didn't lose anything from having only one intro/outro per movie
and then a month later i just fucking deleted them?? because i was ashamed because dbza was cringe or problematic or something? i cannot tell you how many times i've found myself wanting to just put one of those supercuts on in the bg and cursed past me for her sins
