"how is mario supposed to interact with the plot if he only speaks in shouts and exclamations"

what exactly do you expect out of the movie plot that requires complex understanding from mario mario. because it worked for Paper Mario TTYD and that has more plot in a single area than illumination has in nearly its whole film catalogue

"i just think it'd be grating to watch a film where mario just said "wahoo" and "lets a go" a bunch for two hours"

idk dude it doesn't get tiring over a 30 hour video game and those don't even have other characters to fill the vocal space

the thing about kingdom hearts is that any given game is like, not an especially complicated plot on its own. and when you play the series and experience it all it's usually not too hard to put all the pieces together (with the general exception of ddd's time travel mechanics and the somewhat vaguely defined power of waking in kh3)

the complication is coming from the outside and also from the fact that for a long time the series was spread across a dozen consoles

if anyone wants to know how yugioh players are doing while mtg players are dealing with the $1000 proxy packs, it's mostly just people freaking out over Plunder Patroll support

the thing about yugioh anime decks is that the guy playing dragons that fuse together to make a huge dragon with two dozen lightsabers strapped to its wings and the guy playing Hippo Burlesque Turbo are the same fucking guy

the best of course is the Black Luster Soldier, whose tracksuit is very clearly there but so are all the ridiculous elements. the ring in the back is like, a dryer now or some shit idk

i don't really tune into Yugioh Rush Duels very much but the concepts they create there are usually either fairly inspired OR extremely silly takes on old yugioh monsters

there's an archetype called the "Soljersey" archetype, which has "Soldier" monsters from base yugioh except dressed in tracksuits. so you've got shit like "Bean Soldier" in this stupid fucking jacket and it's all amazing. they gave these monsters drip
