ok upgrading these posts to "unlisted" so other shrikes can see them. there's a big spam flood on the fediverse rn and I'm trying to whack instances with hammers when they pop up.
if this continues to be a problem I may follow this advice: https://wehavecookies.social/@paul@oldfriends.live/111948023592016886 however, a bunch of the spam reported over the last few days DOES NOT follow this format so I'm a little iffy on it being worthwhile?
please send in reports if you're getting spam notifications so we can do more instance blocks.
also I unblocked the instance wehavecookies.social because they appear to have cleared their spam out and be on top of it now. still irritated at people foolish enough to have an open signup policy but whatever at least they're dealing with it responsibly.
