i'm not going to try to talk you into something you're not interested in, but if you are interested but just think you couldn't keep up:
- one of thee major goals of the grand siesta was to tone down the commitment needed to be caught up. there's a new feature that honestly no one knows how it works yet, but it's called the FEED and is supposed to be some way to keep track of events going on without needing to be glued to discord and twitter. there's also a new schedule for the seasons: three on weeks, two off weeks. so it's not the constant "there is always something happening" it's been in the past
- we just started a brand new arc and no one knows what's happening yet
so like, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, now's not a bad time

you have to ask yourself questions like "what will i and the friends/family in my area do if we all lose power for a week? water? internet?"
understand the natural disasters that impact your area and what you need to be safe from them — the authorities will not protect you
