i think this is a Thing for various Journalists because journalists DO generally have complex taxes (they're contractors with multiple sources of income) but like, the average person is not getting dozens of 1099s and having to withhold their own taxes
obviously almost everyone pays taxes in their 20s but also if you are single, childless, rent and have a w2 your tax issues are simply not complex.
if you want people to learn and retain tax info there should be a mandatory class when you turn 30
also, generally the average person's exposure to serious Tax Issues is not happening in their teens or even their 20s (inheritance, purchasing a house, getting married , issues around dependants etc)
Whenever someone says they should teach high schoolers this you should frankly just laugh bc no high schooler would retain or care about this
My favorite part of this was they posted a single source which literally says “There is no epidemiological evidence to date that avian influenza can be transmitted to humans through consumption of food, notably poultry and eggs.“ and follows it up with the USDA food safety recommendations like that proves… anything lol
I try not to get mad at the credulous moron side of Twitter but like. I really do think you have a community responsibility to not spread totally unfounded fear mongering bullshit
it is DEFINITELY aggravated by using a screw driver, ive noticed ive got a real click in my wrist when i try and really get in there lol
good luck to the team
