Not good circumstances of course but it is good that the US state and its educational institutions are showing their readiness to collaborate (again) in suppressing dissent through very visible violence rather than through purely administrative means. There can be no denying the complicity of the most esteemed institutions in the country as they push their own students away from the metaphorical podium. History is not so far away
