meowrails: "No Matter What" from Steven Universe: The Movie

this could literally just be a meowrails duet—especially if you consider the last line
"At the end of your rope / I'll be holding you taut / I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what."

this is just the exact vibe their relationship has
you would think “a new mix of a song that initially came out in 1970” would still be considered a song that came out in 1970
but what do I know
in addition to the Dallas Cowboys (formerly the Dallas Cowboys), things I did tonight include:
the Anchorage Dolphins
the Bismarck Cardinals (formerly the Washington Football Team)
the Honolulu Raiders
the Las Vegas Chargers
the Toronto Bills
the (Pierre) South Dakota Bengals
the Montpelier Jaguars
and the Hartford Whalers (formerly the St. Louis Rams of Los Angeles)
one of the things you could do with teams is just relocate whenever, and one of the available cities was Dallas, presumably to put a second team in the city
but they didn't put a check to stop you from moving a team that was already there to there
this is in reference to the Mariners’ manager saying they have exactly that fun differential: https://twitter.com/RyanDivish/status/1430308122061533188

(THotSM also has full creative independence, whereas TLD has Jordan’s production company listed as a producer)
is The Last Dance a better documentary? probably. i haven’t actually seen it, so i can’t give my thoughts on it for sure.
but i mean, for fuck’s sake, it features interviews with MULTIPLE FORMER PRESIDENTS! the fact that THotSM can even HANG with something with so much more of a built-in advantage is an absolute testament to the work & the love Jon Bois and Alex Rubenstein put into it
The History of the Seattle Mariners is more of a creative achievement than The Last Dance
it’s easy to make the story of a good team—of arguably the greatest of all time at something—interesting, especially when you have exclusive access to footage AND can just talk to him
it takes much more creative and storytelling skill to make the story of a middling team—a team that’s never actually won anything—just as compelling, especially when you can only use footage sparingly and NO firsthand source
