@BestGirlGrace is it weird to anyone else that they localized it as that? in Japan it's just called fusion, which seems a lot easier to get kids to understand?

@georgespolitzer @BestGirlGrace for a lot of the earliest yugioh cards they tried to localize them to sound cool and Unique if they were particularly simple, with less regard for accuracy. this is how we got "Cyclone" turned into "Mystical Space Typhoon"

sometimes if they used an English word in the Japanese version, they'd go and use a Japanese equivalent word (for example, "Cyclops" became "Hitotsu-me Giant")

for all i know Polymerization was just an attempt at spicing it up like the others
