i don't sleep enough and my brain starts raising Important Questions
in all seriousness, how would we even go about determining certain things like this?
I'm sure, for example, if we have diaries and personal accounts from/about historical figures we can glean some information from them, but we're probably never going to find out the answers to trivial but tantalising questions
Tracks I did for Kickstarter backers (except Slice of Life) – now on Bandcamp. They were already on Soudncloud but I don’t use that much. Free. https://music.androidlust.com/album/covers
and you can do a LOT in 1.2 seconds, to the extent that I'm mentally approaching this like an entire 4 bars of music
and its making me really appreciate all the detail and polish you can bring out in that speck of time
and so many things are crucial, fading out an extra 0.1 seconds can UTTERLY change the impact of a sound given its comparative length
currently working on an OS soundpack and its really rewiring my brain
i love long drawn out evolving musical phrases, a sustained note/chord that changes over time is immensely satisfying but this takes place over a period of seconds
currently im dealing with a notification sound that has to be ~1 second and trying to capture the right feel of a notification (pay attention to me but don't panic) is.. interesting

to me its the weed problem (not that kind), if you *choose* to plant something in your garden that other people call a weed its definitionally not one. (
one only need think of Giant Hogweed that was originally grown here as an ornamental plant but as its now growing wild in many places (and dangerous as well) its considered a stubborn weed
so ... noise music is noisy but its hard to call it noise unless you think its noise because if you enjoy it its signal even though its noise music
even if the song contains moments of intentional atonal feedback , to *us* thats *all* signal. simultaneously with noise music none of the noise is noise (i feel very baudrillardian with that sentence) because to us its all signal (!)
there is a philosophical question underpinning noise music (and music in general). I hardly have to explain the idea of signal to noise ratio, but in (say) a contemporary rock song we wouldn't consider (saving some kind of production error) there to be any "noise" in a faithful digital replication of the work.
someone asked my thoughts on noise music:
despite the name, I'm an industrial musician. the two scenes had a lot of overlap at one point (the use of feedback and horrific distortions etc by throbbing gristle, for a single example) and there does appear to be a few point of re-convergence right now , it's not ever been my scene, so its not one i have very strong opinions on
not calling it "fall" but telling me, in ireland, that it will be from "10am pacific" get fucked

The most important kind of antifascism you can do, is everyday antifascism; maybe you can't go around punching nazis, but there's no law that says you have to be nice to them, tolerate them in your spaces, engage with them like they someone worthy of respect, kindness, and sympathy.
Antifascism is about making it hard to be a fascist, every day, and in every way. You are not powerless even if your circumstances prevent you from fighting back. You do not have to accept normalized fascism in life
