i can't even call steven moffat a good writer or a bad writer because he's written too many terrible episodes to be flukes and too many great episodes to be flukes. it boggles my mind that the same guy who wrote most of BBC Sherlock also wrote The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, and Heaven Sent
@Paravellex he can do isolated Cool Moments and literally nothing else. it's when he tries to string anything together into a cohesive larger picture that it all falls to pieces. imo his stuff is super weak when he doesn't have no context spectacle to fall back on.
the only thing that ties moffat's scripts together quality-wise is that he doesn't know how to write women well, and when he does it's largely by accident
