OK I'm thinking about the movie's stance on revolutionary action and it's interesting

the rebels are trying to kidnap Frankenstein, who they believe to be Mr President's close friend, and hold him ransom in exchange for an end to the race

the head of the rebellion, Thomasina Paine, says that "this is no time for violence" to her hot-headed lieutenant. but he goes ahead with his plans and they work, he kills 3 of the 5 racers.
