Actually I remember them talking about politics over dinner exactly once to my recollection and it was, when I was about 10 or so I think, of that big old like 6'5 retired welder telling his sister in law some shitty sneering mean old woman to "shut the hell up" for railing against abortion in his household. Never met a bigger fan of Ann Richards than that man

Never actually had family thanksgiving talk about politics or whatever because most of my family lives up in Ohio so every year in Texas we'd eat with our dear family friends who we ate with every Sunday anyways this like welder union family who lived right near us except they had a pool and a shed with a tv I'd sit in every Sunday every year so I didn't have to socialize with the adults and I'd watch family guy while I ate. Anyways that food was good I miss it
