doing this because my enter key stopped registering input about two times out of three presses. reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hoping this clean fixes the problem because i simply do not have time to figure out how to replace mechanical switches, and i absolutely Do Not want to have to buy a wholeass new keyboard.
(i'm using a small keyboard i have for traveling rn, it's actually really pleasant to use but you have to hold FN to use the arrow keys which is, kind of a drag)
@sarahzedig gotta say this looks a lot more satisfying than when i did the same on my 2007 vintage Dell membrane keyboard that I've carried through 4 major pc builds now.
as for replacing switches, that's either pretty straightforward (if they're the hot-swap type) or a moderate soldering job. if it's the latter and you're not comfortable with it I'm certain you could find some shrike willing to do it.
@sarahzedig might also just be a matter of spraying some contact cleaner into the switch!
