@futureimperfect there's even still good pop! there's been good pop for years! but a lot of it just suffocates under the weight of streaming metrics meaning songs you might despise remain on rotation now for fucking Years. living in the present means not getting to skip ahead 20 years to where the real stinkers have been filtered out and we're left with The Best Of The Decade
@futureimperfect it makes a bad problem worse essentially. i try not to succumb to nostalgia where possible because it is a blinding force - there was garbage on the radio before i was born, when i was a child, there will be when i grow older and after i die. so it goes
@multiocular I kind of worried it was just me not getting pop music and being too cynical because everyone who's at least a little intense about music is like "oh they don't make good music anymore" but like wow it IS dire
