going through Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett. it's pretty cool. I have a few thoughts on it

1. Discworld is British Gensokyo
2. not sure how I feel about the final 1/4th of the book going "cosmic" but it's still a fun ride
3. Pratchett proves that you absolutely can tell, not show, your reader things, so long as you've got a sharp wit and know how to torture your metaphors into new fun new shapes
