lots of great stuff in this but i love love love love love shirley's actor tearing up recounting the circumstances that led to the wheelchair-accessible tardis. you cannot tell me that this is some kind of cynical pandering, it might not matter to *you* but it matters to SOMEONE. it's the same with rose being an nb transfem-- we don't have to aggressively read ourselves into this world anymore, because we're **already there!!!**

@sarahzedig she's actually worked with RTD before and helped him write for her character's disability, it sounds like Davies leaves some of the writing around Shirley up to her!
