okay i need my tumblr oldheads to cross-corroborate a weird old moment on the site with me. if we can collectively remember the 12 hours of thwomp-posting we can remember this.
does anyone remember when someone found a chinese tumblr competitor and everyone flocked to it? it had no english translation so everyone used sitewide google translate: notes were "heat" and posts were "cloth"? i can't have just imagined this cultural moment, right?
this is actually driving me mad. i have VIVID memories of signing up for this site and dicking around on it, laughing at the mistranslations of all the elements, enjoying a temporary corner of tumblr-like internet to hang out with all my fellow funnyman vanguard before the joke died and we all headed back home.
