you know on further reflection, while i'm still skeptical of the efficacy of kshama sawant shifting towards a new national party movement, i feel like the fact that she got called slurs by (a couple) protesters in the middle of a speech at CHAZ and DIDN'T immediately denounce the entire movement & go on a book tour about it suggests that she might be more qualified for serious *messy* leftism than a hell of a lot of the other bozos kicking around this country
the thing is that she could have. she could have thrown all of CHAZ under the bus, the media would've (conditionally) embraced her for it, i don't even think a lot of her base wouldve blamed her! CHAZ was a fucking mess, but that was due in no small part to the fact that everyone on all sides was lying & fearmongering about the zone 24/7. what i respect about sawant is that she sees *people*, and no amount of generalization or individual bad behavior changes the needs of the global working class
