hahaha i love software and communities
added a bunch of albums to my musicbee library and of course several tracks from some albums have been arbitrarily sorted into different "albums" despite being in the same folder with no discernible metadata difference
musicbee is known for its customizability so i figure, hey, this should be an easy fix
and every answer i find is like "why would you want albums sorted by the folder they're in????"
AND YOU WONDER WHY EVERYONE PAYS FOR SHITTY APPS
@sarahzedig they look like cool albums
@sarahzedig Do you have last.fm? These seem cool I'd like to check them out, I've been trying to expand my music palette lately.
@sarahzedig have you tried using lidarr? as long as the artist/release exist on MusicBrainz, lidarr has been pretty game changing for me, as it auto tags everything for you
@sarahzedig Foss bros answer questions like normal people challenge
@sarahzedig Foobar2000 is the best if you really want to customize your experience. They have a nice folder view, too.
yeah i absolutely want to spend an entire day sorting out the metadata of these albums with titles that are entirely in russian and japanese, yeah that's so much better than just showing me all of the sons that are in one folder under a single heading. why would you even want that lol lmao
free open source software is the realm of snobby tech shits who are repulsed by the idea that anything should ever make sense or work intuitively. all the better to let corporations steal from them my dear!!!
