@sarahzedig I believe that the reason is because it still takes the same amount of rotations to read the whole disc, just that blurays store more per rotation
and the limiting factor is physically spinning the disc, since reading the disk with a laser is basically instant
gotta say i'm shocked that ripping dvds is not a substantially shorter process than ripping blurays
