GTA6 in 2025.
on the one hand: yes, good, long development times for a game this scale is a wonderful sign
on the other hand: ohhhh my god the political commentary in this game is gonna come out of the gate aged like milk
the trailer got a hook in me though. god damn it, there yet remains a lizard in my brain that played GTA3 for 6 hours straight at a friend's house in 2002 and has been chasing that high nonstop ever since. rockstar's an exploitative company that has a long history of treating its employees like trash. they also make pretty good video games and i would like to be able to enjoy one of them again. i am not immune to tom petty i mean propaganda

@sarahzedig I ask the same question for every GTA before making my purchase: "Is the motor scooter still named "The Faggio?" and if it is then I don't bother. I haven't played one since Vice City.
@idesofmerch i never owned a console that could play a GTA until 5 came out, so the series always had this like Premium Mystique that i desperately searched for in trash like true crime: streets of LA and spiderman 2 on the gamecube. i never finished GTA5 lmao
@sarahzedig i don't really care about this series very much but if i get to be a hot woman in sunglasses doing crimes and looking cool there is like, a high level of bullshit i will put up with for that experience

@sarahzedig yeah I am feeling low-key excited for this. Especially after playing GTAV all the way through in the pandemic and finding that I liked it a whole lot more than I expected (the seething hatred they have for Hollywood and Silicon Valley is really, really compelling)
i mean, idk, maybe not? maybe they'll surprise us? but i have to imagine that a lot of the satire here is already based in a very post-trump desantis-flavored chic, which is pretty high risk considering this drops after an election year
