yugioh is a fascinating game to me casually and a decent bit less fascinating competitively
one of my main sources of beef with the current status of things is that there's a lot of cards that are really good bosses that also just. slot themselves into any deck, which also ends up invalidating a lot of more unique boss monsters that take more hoops to jump to
why would you go through the trouble of summoning Ra when Accesscode exists etc
@turntechcatfish drytrons have access to damn near every ritual monster in the game and their two main bosses pull double duty of shutting down backrow and plowing through monsters
what do they do turn 2? summon accesscode and/or zeus
at least the amorphactor pain version is funny
the thing is that i like to optimize decks to a point, in order to make the game plan(s) and combos flow well
but i also don't want a deck to lose its own sense of identity to playing the Good Stuff
so casual play ends up being a bit more fun because you get to see How Far A Deck Can Go, even if it's not crazy
