Trying to distract from my ffxiv autism by putting a different kind of autism in front of me (monogatari series rewatch.. ots fascinating how my perception and understanding of the characters changed as i aged)
@CarnassialGang monogatari is a strange beast to me that i only half-remember watching in my younger years
it's like. it's a show with some wildly arresting conversations and really interesting directorial choices and shot composition. and also like, from what i can vaguely remember, it's sort of unbelievably good at directing things to make it feel erotic???
and then it's like, i think about araragi and his brand of weirdness and i'm like i don't think i could watch this show
@Griever you really just have to get past him and then the rest of the series is great. It really does not help that episodes 2 and 3 are like "okay here is his worst trait and this will be a running gag forever"
@CarnassialGang i remember when the pov switches to Kaiki for a while and it's like "wait a minute, this is what the world looks like through the eyes of someone who is merely a reasonable adult conman, it's so different from our usual filter of accompanying a hormonal problematic teenage lunatic"
@Griever the POV switches in second season are really good. There's a new season coming out over the summer following the POV of some of the same characters
Transitioning would have made kanbaru so much worse. Adult man with the traumas of a teenage athletic lesbian
