thinking about this song that gets played in the 4kids-commissioned Yugioh Movie as kaiba's theme, as a mildly understandable but extremely funny mischaracterization of his character

this is a problem that earlier yugiohs, especially the original, have a lot less of a problem with, because:

- cards have way less effects on average
- there are actually a decent number of episodes where duels simply don't happen

thinking about these yugioh posts and while i love the fact that yugioh is made up of tv shows where people play complicated card games at each other while dramatically explaining what their cards do, it can be a pretty big detractor if the plays get too much like a real duel

looking forward to mbt's upcoming yugioh youtube series about building and playing decks with extremely low budgets
