whenever any vintage photo bots show up on my TL, I pull up the photo and try to guess the year/decade before reading the caption — surprisingly tricky sometimes!

@NatVoltaic RIGHT like I pulled up the photo and assumed “oh, late ‘80s to early ‘90s,” and then boom, 1977! And they STILL DRESS LIKE THAT TODAY like this has to be studied

not even saying this to be derogatory but the way old white people dress has fundamentally not changed since the mid-1970s

played unreal — and I mean absolutely shameful — amounts of Touhoumon romhacks as a teenager, I wonder if ppl still maintain those?

shoutout to Sapporo Ichiban for making some of the best default cup ramen of all time. Harder to find in the US but strongly worth it over Maruchan, Nissin Cup Noodles, etc. “is it the MSG” it’s the MSG

@kate +1 to “they’re in the Midwest,” lots of (comparatively) cheap old farmhouses available if you have no issues living in rural MAGAland 2 hours from the nearest urban center (though even that’s changing in places; house costs around where I grew up are skyrocketing now because they’re within an hour’s commute to Grand Rapids)
