@engineerjulia @sarahzedig yeah the puppet acted as the base and then they used vfx for the lip-sync and expression which is really clever and looked gorgeous in motion

@sarahzedig I was really shocked by this. But then again Davies was the guy who gave the Doctor psychic paper in the first place, and giving the sonic more stuff to do lets you use it in more versatile fashion to move from one scene to the next. we also saw it meaningfully limited in the same old buzzword way (‘deadlocked controls’) so it’s just another tool for writers to use and a chance to flex the truly great looking effects
